How to Unlock Ring Heroes
Gollum is hidden on every map in Skirmish and multiplayer modes. Find and defeat him to get the ring, then have your troops carry it to your fortress. You’ll then be able to recruit a Ring Hero for 9,000 resources. Good units can recruit Galadriel while evil units can recruit Sauron. These powerful heroes can act without using any command points.
Instead of wandering aimlessly looking for Gollum, wait for your opponents to kill him, then steal the ring back from them before they reach their base.
How to Get Easy Resources
Play as any dark force in Skirmish mode and select the Isengard map. Build 10 lumber mills around the giant wall to accumulate resources fast.
LOTR: Battle for Middle Earth II Strategies and Tips
Like all RTS games, every battle is different in The Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth II, but there are some general tips to keep in mind.
Plan Your Attack
Before you charge into hostile territory, send an expendable unit such as an Orc Warrior or a camo unit to scope out your enemies’ base. Have your Bowmen and Cavalry focus on enemy units, and send your melee soldiers to destroy buildings.
Defense Is the Best Offense
Defensive structures do more than protect your base. If you build a bunch of towers and teleport an opponent’s inside your base, they’ll get slaughtered before they can do anything.
Beating Brutal Mode
When fighting against the AI in Brutal mode, your enemies will go for your farms first, so build a line of farms between your base and theirs. While your opponent attacks your crops, build up your troops until you’ve amassed enough force to overwhelm the enemy.
